My entry for the Splice contest.
Meet Belinda, a terrifying yet beautiful melding of Woman and snake. Mixed with several different snake genes, she is the mythological Naga made real through genetic engineering. She has several defects due to the genetic crossing but is currently the more evolved of her predecessors in similair cross breeding attemps. She has the ability to dislocate her jaw and swallow large prey such as rodents and even small house pets, though there is a possibility she can consume even larger prey. Her fangs fold back in her mouth but elongate when she is ready to attack, and her venom is capable of causing blindness and paralysis. Her main source of locomotion is her powerful tail though she will use her human limbs when she has to reach for items outside of her reach. Her tail displays a genetic defect that shows malformed legs that ended up merging into a tail and as a result she has a foot at the end of her tail. Weather this is vestegial or has a purpose remains to be seen.
Her name means "Beautiful Serpent."
I orignally planned for her to have full snake scales but thought the rash like appearence of growing scales fit more within the theme of genetic splicing, not quite scales, not quite human skin. I tried to make her human aspects stand out even more while grafting snake like behavior on top of them so you're not quite sure if you're looking at a snake or a woman.
I enjoyed making this and hope you all enjoy.
Jonesycat, out! MEE-YAA!
